What I know about Cheung Sam is that they are a very fitted one piece sheath dress typically styled with a high mandarin type collar and an angled entry at the neckline. They are also known as a qipao. When custom made, these dresses are gorgeous.

You say "skirt" in your question, so I assume you may mean the slitted minis that are now in style, where the slit is sitting on the front.
