Or shall I slay thee instead?

I pray thee, listen well: I am worthy not of a paltry two, nay, but a score and nine points which thou hast hidden away as a sign of malice. Yet, if thou wilt but soften thine own heart, I will be thy bosom friend forever if thou wouldst but grant me ten points. Yea, I will e'en write a goodly song for thee which will surpass all other chicken-scratched verses written by foul-mouthed poultry. Yea, thy name shall be oft-remembered and oft-sung by thy humble servant, whose only desire is to bring thee chocolate-dipped cream puffs made of finely-milled blanched white flour and sugar from the finest confectionery stock. Slay me not, good sir, but release the noble passions within thy kindly heart, and thinkest me not froward, but wilt thou consider me to be the fair lady who dost importune thee with all penitence?

The gentleman doth jest too much, methinks,
Or else he is too angry by so far,
To think that one would pen a thought in verse,
Lest one be slain by such a cad as he!

That doth dependeth upon one's intent to insult or praise. In sooth, prithy which consumation of one's energies be wasted?
A declaration of gaining "points" would be my folly!
