Okay, first of all.... If people think that the movie is horrible - why go see it? The first few were B movies anyway and only became legends in the 90's when they started making more of them.
I love Texas because I think Leatherface is one bad *** dude, and I HATE chainsaws. I get chills when I hear them around my parents farm.
I just watched the trailor for Texas: the Begining... and I think it looks pretty awesome. I loved the new one that was released in 2003. Although, I think the chainsaw should have been used more... not everyone gets what they want.
I like both new and old movies when it comes to storyline. I don't like the new movies just for technological advances... I like the story lines. So, the 2003 edition was great in it's own way. Just like the original.

Ahem. For education of the masses.
The "Based on a true story " part of TCM is the Ed Gein story.
Born and raised in Plainfield Wisconsin. He lived with his mother in their ramshackle farmhouse until she passed away. Ed, the son, then basically went completely insane. He dug his mother up and installed her back in her old bedroom, fixed meals for her, had conversations with her, etc. When he decided he needed additional company, he'd go out raiding graveyards again.
He graduated to murder, dismemberment and cannibalism before being caught and sentenced to like 45 years in a state mental hospital, before being ajudged "Cured" and released. He died in obscurity soon after. This story is also the basis for the original "Psycho" an another movie called "Deranged", starring Roberts Blossom.
There was no chainsaw-wielding Texas family, turning innocent tourists into barbeque. Not in real life. Or none that have been caught yet anyway, heh heh heh.
Having said all that, the remake of TCM (with Jessica Biel) sucked. Any OTHER remake of the original is gonna suck too.

I do not think they should make a movie on such violence. That movie is actually based on a true story!..........Even if it is in dispute about it being real or not the movie should not be made because there are some crazy people out there that imitate stuff like what is in that movie. In the 70's when this movie came out they said it was based on a guy that went around killing people like in the movie.
