be yourself. be patient and take it slow. start opening up to a few people and see how they are towards you. are they (and you) respectful to each other? do you share the common interests? remember, everyone wants to be loved and in the company of others....give it time. good luck

find a place of interest, a hobby a club where you are similar to the people there, if you have things in common if yhou like sports or music or art find people of the same, likes,
next be a good listener, if you interupt all the time people will be offended and bored and think you are all about you.. be interested in other people not just yourself , (i am not suggesting you are not, or yur interupt) I AM just saying that being a good listener will give you insight, answers and people like to be heard, and listened too, and they will be attracted to you,, dont be pushy, or too friendly too fast, dont bragg, or insult anyone even joking, dont put your hands all over anyone , they may take it wrong,
do not tell all your problems, or ask for anything, just be friendly sincere and yourself, good manners, patient, and go for the right crowd.

making friends - be urself and open up to people and always smile to make ur face accommodating so others are not intimidated by ur face.
maintaining friends - are u easily pissed off which drives people away? be nice, share their problems and be there for them, ok.

basically enable her flow do her element and do your own element. she would be able to at last fade away into the sundown and whilst she comes lower back awaiting you to p.c.. up the place you left off like her abscence and flakiness went unoticed, be well mannered, impersonal and make the communication speedy. that way it wont be awkward for any of you.
