It would be nice to base things on degrees of good. So many people like hearing of the misfortunes of others, but not the fortunes of others. Might be jealousy and envy. There is enough good in the world to go around if everyone would just pass some along. A listening ear. A compliment. A smile. These do not cost a thing and can make a persons day.

It has to do with balance and the truth of the matter is that "bad " is more memorable than "good". Good and bad depends an awful lot on where you are standing at the time. Take for instance the war in Kuwait a few years back. Sadam asked the US if we had any interest in Kuwait. We said no. He did want that country, so felt he was in the right to expand his borders. Was he right or wrong? Were we when we stepped in to stop him? Did anyone bother to ask the Kuwait people (Obviously they objected to Sadam because they asked us to stop him)? Iraq considered acquiring Kuwait "good" (it would have benefitted their economy greatly), the US considered it "bad"(it would have caused us to obtain our oil from a country who was not so kindly to us which would have hurt our economy).
I realize I am being simplistic, but more often than not, people complicate things to make their own viewpoint more justifiable.
Now let's take a religious war. If you believe what I believe, you are "good". If you don't, then you are "bad" and deserve to die lest you infect others with the thought that they can think for themselves.
One last thought to ponder--most of the evils in the world have to do with the human condition. Poverty is the result of "them that has gets and them that don't suffer". Disease is a direct result of poor sanitation and lack of prevention usually compounded by poverty. And most accidents are accidents. Pollution is man-made. We need to grow up and take responsibility for our own thoughts and actions. THEN, maybe the good will get the upper hand.

It's a matter of perspective.
Some see the glass as half empty, some see it as half full. We actually live in a peaceful age. Sure there are powerful armies that go to war occassionally. But the endemic warfare between towns/villages/city states of the past are gone. So are the constant conflict between war bands.
And lastly, bad and good are just human conventions. Ideas created by society to define what is desirable and what is not desirable. Nature sees no difference between bad and good.

the earth was designed by our LORD to be the dwelling place of sinners. We humans were born with original sin since the time of our first parents.Included is SATAN the source of all evil.Life to every human is built w degrees of bad but can be good if we use our freewill well.Thats why we were told that if we accept the LORD JESUS as our Lord and Saviour we make a big turn of life. Bec with all these bad degrees Jesus in us can protect us and deliver us and give us a better life despite being here on earth its like saying when we die how sure r we we go to heaven? Sure? The answer is NO. But if you know how it can be a sure YES. ASK ME AGAIN.for u to learn how. Email me at LimMeiLing26@yahoo.com i can show u how to be surely accepted in heaven

It goes beyond mans' thinking but here's how I sort it out. In the whole scheme of things, God's will is always good. Even with, say, the death of a child...something good comes out of that.
Man usually sees only the bad side of things in such a situation because we don't fully understand God's will, or worse, we conclude that God's will is to "harm" us.
But God's will doesn't involve only our lifetime on Earth...it concerns us for eternity. Yes, we might suffer pain while on Earth, but after our Earthly life has ended, hopefully we'll never have to suffer pain again.
That's why so many folks without or with a weak faith suffer so much in this life. They are unable to see beyond the present moment and their own wishful thinking.
Thousands of books have been published on this subject over the course of history and all of them combined have barely scratched the surface.

A short summary is simply that the Eden of God became the Eden of Satan in which we now live. The switch between living with every perfect gift and a world ruled by death and turmoil was simply a failure to believe that what God said was true.
The woman, if you read the Genesis story, was sold an educational program and then seduced. We have been attempting to educate our way out of this mess ever since.
It is not ours to change because God has set up a new kingdom and started a new creation. In the new creation there are levels of good to good and glory to glory. In the old there remains evil to evil and death to death.
Regardless of how old your mother was when you were born, she was in a body of death. Out of her body of death came your new life. Likewise in this universe and in the Eden of Death a new life in Christ Jesus is coming forth.
What you are looking for is known as the Kingdom of God where all things work together for good to them that believe. (ie. have faith).

Hopefully, after the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the earth will be structured more like degrees of good. For now, however, we are still learning about opposition - so there are contrasts to everything until people get to the point where they prefer peace 100% to war, and love 100% to hate.

The earth's not built that way. GOD built the earth with good living creatures. But it's man's free will to choose this way. As a result, some went to the right path and some to the other path.

You watch to much news, There are a lot of good on this earth and a lot of bad, unfortunately the news stations and the news papers only focus on the bad. Look around your town or community, you will really have to look at first (because we are all trained to spot out the bad stuff) but after a while the good stuff will pop out at you.
