This is a fictional story with some facts that have not yet been proved false. The book is about a murder that leads the user to a number of facts about Priory of Scion, a secret society which protects the information regarding the Descendants of Jesus Christs. It is said that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and their line of descendants are alive and kicking. Some of the members of Priory of Scion are Leonardo Da Vinci, Sauniere, Newton and many other artists , scientist and mathematicians. The Controversy is that the book contains a lot of facts regarding the Holy Grail or Mary Magdalene that cannot be proved false. But beware it may not be true either. Da Vinci Code followers believe that the Vatican Church is hiding a lot of information & the bible is just a book of preferred facts which suit the vatican. Fact or Fiction? The debate will continue but just enjoy the book and the movie. Don't believe everything the book says but don't ignore it.

the da vinci code was a novel written by dan brown as a way of making a lot of money.
dan brown used to be a not very good english teacher at an american school. he knows how to deal with dumb kids.
in the da vinci code he puts a story together which has lots of really simple riddles in it. the dumb kids who read the book solve the riddles and this makes them think they are clever.
everybody likes to think they are clever - but dumb people ache for the feeling like a drug.
there are a lot of dumb people.
they buy the book.
dan brown gets very rich.
you can get very rich by manipulating dumb people.
this is what the da vinci code tells us.

It is a fictional book based on truths, half-truths, and as all fiction lies. I have read it and it was entertaining but you can't read or watch it and take it as Gospel! Some people can't differentiate so it has led many astray. Did you know the film was financed by a Muslim? Many do not know this fact. Who else has anything to gain by confusing Christians weak or young in their faith?

It's a work of fiction that basically explores the notion that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and had children, of which the blood line could be traced down to today.
