why is having sex without marriage not allowed in islam ?

It may be or not normal. Normal is something that is under rulers. The rulers here and there are different(from one place to another), so we cannot make comparing. The rulers were made by men, by social institutions or religions and it changes from time to time. The ruler that not allow sex without marriage has its reason. But nowadays this is slackening. Its wrong? It is a sin? It will be if the result is a baby and you run out from the responsibilities.

Christianity doesn't allow sex before marriage too. Sex before marriage is a sin because it has many negative effects on the society:
-Even with the usage of protection, your partner may have an STD and never tell you, since (s)he is not really attached to you.
-You might have a child who would feel lack of the existence of a real mother and father.

because Alla wants to protect the pride and the respect of both man and woman and in Islam it is considered an adultery to sleep with someone whom u don’t have a legal bond with.in case a man sleeps with a woman they will b both punished and they will be stoned in front of the public in order to teach them a lesson and to warn anyone who is thinking of doing the same act. besides not all birth control r guaranteed and when a baby is born from an illegal relationship his father can easily not admit his fatherhood and the woman will be the loser in this case. it all makes sense guys.

Dear Karool, in Islam a man is allowed to marry four if he is financially, physically and emotionally capable of. So if a man is poor and cant feed his first wife and kids so there is no point to marry another woman coz 4 sure he will not be able to make her happy or make himself happy so y 2 add a new burden on himself? In Islam there are certain excuses that allow a man to marry, let’s say that his wife cant give birth and he loves her so if she wishes to stay married to him he can marry another woman to have kids from her. Or if the wife is sick and cant please her husband as he wishes then the man can remarry. Besides, in the Arab World the numbers of girls is larger than the number of men so sometimes marrying 4 women may solve this problem if the man is capable of providing everything equally to all his wife. Please don’t judge us the Muslims b4 u get a whole idea of the topic discussed.

Of course it has several reasons, I now alittle, but I think:
1- having sex with several persons except for one person can spread related diseases(such as aids)
2- having sex before marriage may satisfy you, so you don't like to marry, and consequently there will be no family, no child,...and if you study you find out that what happens to a society when family life becomes poor.

Pre-marital sex is a sin in most religions (even Christianity), but people do it anyways, specially in the west because they are more open-minded and believe in a person's freedom of choices they make in their lives.
Muslims live more by the rules, and have more belief in their religion, most of them actually refuse to have sex before marriage on their own choice.
By the way I'm an atheist, and I think pre-marital sex is harmful (STDs and everything), but I do it anyway..

Pre-marital sex is frowned upon in many societies and unfortunately you can't do anything about that belief... the reason for that belief was mostly due to risk of being pregnant before marriage; but now since they have some good birth control options, such as condoms... most of the western culture and people have pre-marital sex, but it is frowned upon.

fatherhood on the other hand is a social construct. a child can assume that her father is the husband of her mother, but if it is some other man she can have no way of knowing (before dna testing that is).

like ani said .. Allah has made laws ofr all of us ...and they have many meanings in this world that we dont understand ..... but God does ...
the thing u mentioned is called "Zina " in Islam .. adn it is forbidden .. cuz u ( both of the partners) are allowed to see eachothers in that sense and way .... u are not allowed to touch eachother ( even with consent of u all )... in the way ..which is included in "Zina".....
in Islam a girl and a boy must hide their private parts... as its prohibited....
Koran says"the ones ( males) who protect their private parts from others .... and the ones ( females) who protect thier private parts ..from others.... to them is a promised heaven "
Wife and husband are not included in the "others "...but to show ur private parts .. for some improtant reason ...that is medical only ..is allowed ...,.
