Tigers live in symbiosis with their environment. They are in a constant state of equilibrium. You don't see them destroying their jungle untill there is nothing left to pounce on and then going 'oops' and dying out.

It is fashionable to paint man in these negatie hues. However, man had to work his way through the jungles and for shelter had to clear some of it.The Rigwed contains beartiful verses depicting the awe-inspiring power of God Agni(Fire). Apparently they set whole forests afire for clearing land for culvvaion and inhabitation. The Tiger you mention in your question does not do this and that is why it has remain ffrozen in the form for millions pf years and is also facing extinction now. Man would have perhaps remained at the slouching stage even now . There is no guarantee that the forests would have remained in fact. They would have been subject to the circles of climatic changes going on.You would not have been there to ask this question nor I to answer it.For one who wants t o ho ahead had to dominate and also destroy if only for recnstruction.Of course man could have been more circukspect but then he must have been carried out by the consant flux.

Man has always been GREEDY and that's why they do it. Man doesn't CARE as long as change and dollar bills runneth over in their cup. It's been going on for so long and now that the Industrial Complex figured it out, they are panicked. They may see their/or our own demise. People are running scared now. For example, take Lake Ontario. The thing is so polluted by ink from Kodak that certain times are off limits as to fish and the consumption of fish thereof. Now, they are trying to reverse this mess. You can't eat it half the time according to the powers that be. And guess what? I wouldn't eat it at any time. I'd rather take my chances with rock lichen. This is one of hundreds of examples. But now, they are getting it due to the advances of modernity. I just laugh at them. Now that our life span is much longer, they can go down with us and all the money in the world won't change a thing.

Survival of fittest my friend. Who dominates most has big piece of cake and will survive for more time. Man is most greediest animal on this world. We are more interested in comfort rather than requirement. He tries to Bite more than what he can chew. Result degraded environment. We will take the simple exaples of house V live in a place which is more than enough, V eat more than what we were supposed to, V use more water than what we require. Height of it is Shower and bubble bath. We are not committed to our people first. We are greedy, so we ought to be doomed.

As far as we know, we are the only animal _conscious_ of the fact that we will one day die. I believe that we desperately seek security, meaning escape from death, and we attempt to modify our environment to give us that.

Further, I believe that unless humanity takes an evolutionary step to begin living in harmony with our environment, similar to the one we took to develop language, we will certainly be gone soon.

but I hate that man wants to rape the earth too. blame it all on money. Money is the root to every evil. and Ignorance. Ignorance is also at the root to every evil. Once you mix money hunger and ignorance, wahla! you have destruction of land, creature, water, fellow human beings.
