When 'the body dies', the heart stops beating and breathing ceases. Therefore there is no oxygen circulating through the body. Therefore the first organ to stop function is the brain as it cannot surviv e without oxygen supply for 2-3 minutes. This is then followed by other oxygen dependent organs like the kidney, liver, bone marrow and such. The last tissue to die are the muscles. They take about 2-3 hours as they have a stored oxygen supply via myoglobin. During this state, the muscles tighten and this is called "rigor mortis".

Howdy,
I read someplace that most human beings die of hypoxia, or lack of oxygen to their brain. This can happen if the body cannot breathe (the lungs are damaged, or drowned, or choked off) or if the heart isn't pumping blood through the lungs to the head, or the body has no strength left to inflate the lungs.
Without oxygen, the brain starts to die in 3 mins. Your mind goes out, your eyes stop seeing and your organs and muscles stop working. Some of the organs stay alive for a while, that is how they can be transplanted, but without oxygen they will die within a few hours. Muscles and skin are last.

When a person dies all his cells are stopping to work. The cells from the mussels aren't beating anymore, the lungs and the diaphragm are stopping their continuous actions, the blood is starting to coagulate. All cells are dying from the ones that their actions was to live and grow to the last ones skin cells. You can say your not dying alone.

a body is a collection of many systems. some are essential to live e.g nervous or respirstion systems. If one of these essential system collapses, body is said to be dead, irrespective of the functioning status of the organs involved in that system.

THE BODY DIES 2 WAYS NATURALLY AND UNNATURALLY!
UNNATURALLY IT CAN BE BY ACCIDENT.
REAL DEATH IS NATURALLY WHEN THE BODY LOSES ALL THE REQUIREMENTS TO LIVE AND SO CEASES TO BE!
