They are called book worms coz it lives in the book, eats and digests it. It means that the person who read so much so that it gets the book digested is called a book worm. Dont take the practical shape and mean of it but the act...:)

not everybody that loves books/reading is a bookworm.. its usually reserved for those of higher intellectual status that like to tell u all the lil facts u couldn't care less about of any givin subject
