Having children is the best thing Brad Pitt ever did, he says.

"It really changes your perspective on the world," Pitt, 42, said during a Today show interview aired Monday morning. "You know, I've had my day. I made some films, and I've really had a very fortunate life, and it's time for me to share that a little bit."

Admitting that he shares his partner Angelina Jolie's belief in contributing to humanitarian causes, Pitt also credited the couple's kids – Maddox, 4, Zahara, 1, and 6-week-old daughter Shiloh – with the shift in his attitude.

Having children, he said, "completely changes your perspective and certainly takes the focus off yourself, which I'm really grateful for." Chuckling, he added: "I'm so tired of thinking about myself. I'm sick of myself."

Of parenting, he said, "You feel you want to be there and not miss out on anything. It's a true joy (and) a very profound love. You can write a book, you can make a movie, you can paint a painting, but having kids is the most extraordinary thing I've ever taken on."

Don't know if you think it's weird or not, but some people do. A day after Thanksgiving, I make soup called "What's Left."
The ingredients literally depend on what is left of the dinner, so it changes a bit every time. But I try to use every scrap of everything that's left, as long as it "goes" together. Like, I don't put the left over desserts in it or anything. It works out well.

My favorite meal growing up (still is, but don't make it that often) was country fried steak with gravy, mashed potatoes and corn. When I would heat the leftovers up the next day, I would cut up the steak and add that with the corn to the mashed potatoes, mix it up & enjoy!

The concoction looked horrible, and I would *never* let anyone see me eating it. But, man, was it good!!

I made pasta with curry sauce, it was powdered sauce from a packet and tasted disgusting, I read that boiled eggs taste good with curry sauce so I made curried eggs with pasta and mango chutney, it was so awful!!! I had chick peas and potatoes, totally gross! also tinned tuna with tinned potatoes, just so bland! Not too weird just really bland and funny combinations, I was broke so had no money for decent food!

Take all leftovers, drain any juices, warm in frying pan with a bit of butter. Stir well, and call it Smognosmitch. A family favorite.
