We have a battle between our mind and our spirit as to which will dominate our body. This is our greatest fight. The more time we spend in the Word and act in response to God, the less difficult it will become to be obedient. It will never get easy. Just look at Saul's (Paul) life. Follow Saul's instructions in 1 Cor. 14 when in a group situation. Pray for full understanding of the Word before you read, that you may understand fully what's being taught. When alone, is it more difficult for you? Just let it flow. We don't always understand what's being said, but God does. It's the deep groanings of our spirit.

Speaking in tongues is not very hard.Especially when there is a massive praise and worship ,the atmosphere is filled with the holy spirit ,you can speak in tongues.
It shouldn't be hard when you want to speak coz it just depends on how the word ,the holy spirit touched your soul so that you can really feel the presence of God .
It has nothing to do with the flesh ,surely sometimes you can feel tired but frankly speaking ,if you feel the presence of God you will never fight with the flesh coz you will no longer be yourself but the HOLY SPIRIT.

Glossolalia isn't a Christian thing. Many other religions have such experiences.
Now, _why_ do you want to babble like that? If it's just a religious thing, get over it.
Cool fact: The syllables that make up instances of glossolalia typically appear to be unpatterned reorganizations of phonemes from the primary language of the person uttering the syllables; thus, the glossolalia of people from Russia, the United Kingdom, and Brazil all sound quite different from each other, but vaguely resemble the Russian, English, and Portuguese languages, respectively.
Cool fact: Glossolalists tend to have more need of authority figures and appeared to have had more crises in their lives, according to research. (Check out the Wiki link for more.)

have you ever thought that if you have a real hard time trying to speak in tongues, you may not have the gift from God in the first place? i personally believe the "so-called" speaking in tongues in some churches nowadays are utter nonsense.

I do not know why your flesh fights you so much. You know you feel the spirit of God. SO fight with every strenght you have. God will honor this fight and you will win. God bless your journey.

Not all sects of Christianity believe in the gift of tongues. Some believe that it faded away in the early history of Christian church, but those involved in this study turned out conflicting results.

when i first got the holy ghost i didn't automatically speak tongues. it happened much later when i was praying at home by myself. tongues is a wonderful outlet to release stress and gain strength. Keep seeking God and He will come to you, practically any way you want him to!
