When Jesus said to ask for anything in his name and he will do it?
Why does he need mere mortals to give their hard earned cash?

From Jesus:

Pray to me for anything and I will hear and answer your prayers. I say it in dozens of places in the Bible, but I like the way I say it in Mark 11:24 the best: "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Anything you need -- money, love, happiness, you name it -- I am here to provide it for you.
Now, there is just one thing I need in return. I need your money. I need lots of your money. The Bible specifies that you tithe ten percent of your income to me, but think of that as a starting point. Feel free to give more!

Because even though I created the universe and everything in it, and even though I will give you everything you ask for in prayer, I can't give a cent to any church, ever. When they pass the offering plate at church, be sure to give generously!

Tithing, the Last Frontier

It was once said that the wallet is the "last frontier." It is the final area to be conquered -- the last thing that comes to God in surrender. Jesus spoke much about money. He said that we cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24). The word "mammon" was the common Aramaic word for riches, which is akin to a Hebrew word signifying "that which is to be trusted." In other words, we cannot trust God and money. Either money is our source of life, our great love, our joy, our sense of security, the supplier of our needs -- or God is.
When you open your purse or wallet, give generously and regularly to your local church. A guide as to how much you should give can be found in the "tithe" of the Old Testament -- 10% of your income. Whether you give this amount or not, make sure you do give something to the work of God (see Malachi 3:8-10). Give because you want to, not because you have to. God loves a cheerful giver (2Corinthians 9:7), so learn to hold your money with a loose hand.

In the Bible, God says to give 10% of your income to the House of the LORD. So you do. The church uses this $ in many ways to pay for the expenses, help other people, and to bring the lost sheep. And they are held accountable.
You are also held accountable to give. If the church does not use this $ appropriately they will be punished, not you.
So don't let the plate pass you buy w/out being obedient to Gods'
commands. Remember you will be paid back 10 fold. I know!!!!

Any that do, contradict Christ's specific and exhibit education. yet like the Roman Catholics and the Pharisees earlier them they are going to little question justify their custom above Scripture and the commandment of God. what percentage posts and comments do you spot right here complaining that the churches are about extracting money? no longer with out good reason. If the churches do not pay interest to Christ they ain't going to take heed to you or me. If any favor to grant they don't want a plate or some such thrust of their face. yet you gained't replace them. would they be petrified of trusting in God? Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and convey your sacrifices each morning, and your tithes after 3 years: And furnish a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and submit the free alternatives: for this liketh you, O ye little ones of Israel, saith our lord god. So no longer something has replaced has it?

Oh so how is he going to give you all these things if He's not using mortals to do it through? For instance, you pray for food and then wholla!! It appears on the table? Not likely. More likely that you pray for food and the Church opens a soup kitchen. You pray for comfort and there He is putting His arms around you? More likely that a person who loves Him will be putting their arms around you. Have you not heard? We are the body of Christ. If you don't want to give money to the Church then please give it to some sort of charity at least. There are millions of people who rely on YOUR money to get by everyday. Stop using excuses and see the Church for what it is - a means by which God blesses the world!

Donations to a church are usually to pay the rent/mortgage, utilities, supplies for Sunday School, etc.
The early Church was supported by donations, but they did not pass around a money plate. A box was kept in the back for anyone wishing to make a donation.

Because, that's what supports the church building, grounds, supplies and the preachers income. It's the only way a church can pay the bills.

Churches are structures of brick and mortar. They need heat, power, water, waste collection as much as any of us do for our homes. Priests and ministers need a few bucks to live their lives in the world, as they need heat, power, water, waste collection.

The money collected goes to defray the physical costs. As non-profits, a good chunk of that money goes to charitable causes, like caring for the sick and hungry and destitute, and outreaches amongst those who need help.

By " giving" we remain humble children of God, just as our humble Father gives us when we ask.

Acts 20:35 - "In all things I have shown you that by so toiling one must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

Donations for the church to keep things free or pretty much close to it. And who else will pay the priest?

To help the less fortunate, many churches help families in need and have other community projects.
