Le Tour de France is one of the most grueling test of man's physical endurance, mental strength, and bodily constitution invented in (arguably) all of sport - for individual and team. It lasts 21 stages consisting of flats, hills, and mountains routed through the country of France which is about the size of Texas. Depending on the organization, each year, the tour goes "clockwise" or "counter clockwise" around France, for the race, visiting many towns and cities.
"Le Tour" is one of 3 "Grand Tours" (the others being Tour of Spain and Tour of Italy), it is the largest, most celebrated and most prestigious (internationally) of the three. It supports many of the most natural grand stands in the world because of the Pyrenees and the Alps. Plus, viewing the stages are absolutely free.
This is the race stage where the growth of the cycling sport quadrupled in popularity, with the help of 7 straight wins by Lance Armstrong. And one can see the results still to this day.
From the day this race was officially started (1903) and to today (i.e. Le Tour is going on right now- going into the 9th stage), it is the biggest stage for any pro cyclist. It drives all cyclists of dreaming of themselves winning the Maillot Jaune (GC winner's yellow jersey) on the 23rd day of Le Tour.
For a stage race, it is the ultimate prestige.

The most famous touring race. Basically does a lap of France, covering roughly 2000-2400 miles in a little over 3 weeks. Always includes stages in both the Alps and the Pyrennes.
Can be seen on OLN daily in the US.

it take place in the month of july(luk out for this in this month )
it takes place in france and near by countries
lean armstrong(sory for any spelling mistake) is a 7 times champion (that to continiously) but last year he retired
enjoy watching it on any sports channel this month
