how sick would you have to be before you called in?

I am a stay home mommy so I never get sick days......... LOL!!!!!!!! But really I am a confessed wimp when it comes to being sick....... If I have a bad cold, I am almost useless. Any other time it is mommy to the rescue............

no i would not, I would rather stay home and keep my sick self away from my co-workers so that I dont' pass it around. I would say fever sick, I get bad allergies so that kind of sick doesn't mean i would call in unless it turned into a sinus infection.

I don't go to work when I'm sick, period. It has to be something very mild like a light cold for me to show up. Who wants to deal with work when you're feeling miserable, let alone spread germs or having to run to a public bathroom? If pushing comes to shove I may work from home.

Depends on where you work.
If you're doing billable hours or selling, you'll work even when in the hospital recuperating from appendix surgery. If you're not billing /selling, you're no good for the company.
If you have a more comfy government job, then stay home with the slightest sneeze. Your co-workers will be angry that you're bringing in something they can catch.

It' a personal decision, but if you are contagious, stay home. You don't want to make anyone else sick. Flu bugs seem to stay in the work place forever because everyone seems to catch it more than once.

I can't call in to work, cause I am a stay at home mom, but sometimes I sure wish I could call in.

Well, since I am not contracted by anyone not going to work means not getting paid.
So I'd go to work, even if that meant that I would end up in the hospital :-)

Unable to stand without shaking, or unable to stay out of the bathroom (!), or if the cough sounds like an approaching dinosaur.
