Is 30 years old too old to apply for adoption? I am not currently married to my b/f but we plan to in the future, I am told that only one of us can adopt the child, is that true? I have read loads of info on web sites but some personal experiences would be great!

Some additional details, I should have mentioned that I cannot have kids due to illness earlier in my life which has left me infertile.

I do intend to marry my b/f, but this has no bearing on why I want to adopt, please no sarcastic comments about my marital status, why do people have to be so horrible about serous issues, and ever notice that the nasty people cannot be contacted?

HI, i am adopted and my adoptive parents were both over 40 when they first fostered and later adopted me. they gave me a fantastic life and i am very greatful to them. i also happen to know that the social services are desperate for more people to adopt so please please look into this further as there are hundreds and hundreds of children out their who like i did need someone to look after them. adopting a child is one of the greatest gifts a person can give.

No 30 is not to old to adopt and yes you can adopt as a single person. Good Luck, Adoption is a very hard and stressful journey but well worth it once you're holding your Angel :)

No , you aren't to old. age isn't important, you just need to be able to offer all the basics and all your love to the child!
My parents had me when my mum was 31 and my dad 33!
you should be able to adopt a child together (not sure abou that though)

I work each year in an orphanage in Vietnam and the law of adoption vary from country to country, and from situation to situation. If you do consider to adopt please consider these children
