You can catch a cold at anytime of the year. Of course you may not have a cold, you could have hayfever which has similar symptoms to a cold. Take an antihistamine and see if you feel better.
Unfortunately you have to just let a cold run its course, keep your vitamin C intake up with lots of fresh orange juice and other foods containing it.

My 20 month old daughter has a summer cold too so I sympathise with you. Try over-the-counter remedies for immediate relief. If you're still feeling bunged up try steaming your head over a bowl of boiling water to which you've added olbas oil - should clear your poor nose out and hopefully dry you up a little. Have fun at your party!

Try taking anti-histamine tablets, like Benedryl. Be careful if you're drinking alcohol at the party though. The effects will double!

You get colds because you are exposed to a virus. It can happen at any time of the year. Drink lots of water, get plenty of rest, and (I find) Nyquil to help.

yeah try hayfever tablets, if they don't work and it's definitely a cold, take lots of echinacea, i had a really bad cold last week, and my boyfriend had it the week before, he still hasn't totally recovered but i got better in 3 days (he didn't take echinacea.)

It usually is a viral infection. Sweat it out. Can not guarantee you are better by tomorrow though.
