Good question, but wrong premise. Hindu gods have actually killed many more. Hindu gods that elevate cows to the level of godhood so that parents will give their last food to the cow while their children go hungry have been responsible for millions of deaths alone. Also, consider that Jesus IS one of the Hindu gods. They've got millions of them--so why is it again that you believe Christianity's one God has killed more people than the gods of the Hindus?

Hinduism
In the past, they have 3 million Gods
Each in their own strength and control
The God of God, Indra.
The God of Fire, Ani
The God of deed, Karma
The God of love, Kama
and many more.
The Sun is one god, the moon, the earth, the cow, the animals.
Then the God is "cut down" to 3 hundred.
Now to 3
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
The Creator, The Preserver and Destroyer.
From this 3, is down to One.
Vishnu.
Sleeping on his Serpent couch, from his navel come forth Brahma, and from his forehead, Shiva.
Maintaining the world.
By his Maya ( the veil ), this world is a dream from Vishnu.
Sometime, he took rebirth.
The Verdic state that.
2 Famous Poem
Ramayana and Maharabat
The Hero is Rama and Krishnu
They are his 7 and 8 birth.
Buddhaism, the founder Buddha is 9 birth.
The last one is Khalid or Kalid ( The destroyer riding on white horse.)

Now, Hinduism God are human like.
They have fear of demon ( That why Kali is created )
Kali is actually Wife of Shiva.
Shiva was mediating, therefore, the wife decked herself with black hair, big eyes and human skull. Fearsome image.
She was to kill a demon, whose blood once touched the grounf give birth to another demon.
To stop that, Kali shallow the blood by extending her tongue. This made her mad. Shiva saw that, and lie down naked on the floor.
Kali step on him.
Now in hinduism, the feet is considered dirty.
And being wife of Shiva, she saw her dear, therefore in shame, she hand out her tongue.
Gansheh, the elephant god. Was a boy, but rude to his dad, Shiva. ( The Boy did not know that was his father, the wife ( Kali) pray to have a child without union.
Therefore, shiva cut his head off, and later replace it with a head of elephant.
Know this.
There are many more, to Hinduism.
Is a lifestyle worshipping the forces of Nature.
The energy was given name.
To each was a name given.
It was written by 64 Gurus.
Now, since is a lifestyle, can Hindu God ( Energy ) be loving ?

You'd think so. But then again, some Christians have been known to defend a statement with, "God's love is so powerfull that if you were to experience even half of it's full capacity, your head would explode!" See, he kills because he loves.
In actuality, a deity is only as loving as the people who created him. I don't know if 'loving' is the right word, but Hindus sure do seem to kill a Hell of a lot less. Perhaps they're just indifferent?

"There is only one God, but humanity calls him by many names." Rig Veda 1:164.46

The Christian God and the Hindu God are the same. There is only one, just different names. God is always loving. It is humanity that often does evil things to each other out of ignorance.

By defintion some of the Hindu gods are malevolent and one is the destroyer and garbed with human skulls. Check on Shiva, Vishnu, Kali and so on to get a clear understanding. One of the most pacifistic religions is Buddhism and Kwan Yin is the goddess of mercy.

More people have been killed in the name of the christian god but that is man's actions. I believe all gods in most religions have a loving and a destructive side. We humans give them characteristics we understand and experience.

How many has the Christian God killed?

2006-07-04 04:30:10 · answer #8 · answered by ugafan 4 · 0 0

god himself only killed every living person on the planet except for noah and his family, and he killed all the first born of egypt. the rest was man's doing.

note that you have to believe in the bible as historical fact first.

i don't know about hindu gods being more loving.....gods are gods, we shouldn't be squabbling over who has the best god, but being good people.
