my throat has been hurting for 3 weeks. Im 15 and DONT smoke/drink alcohol/ or do drugs. i have a small patch of white bumps. i have bad headaches and no other body pains except for my hear hurts a little. I went to the doctors and they said it was not strep throat. i got tested for mono, cat scratch, and 2-3 others with bloodwork. do you think that there are other viruses/ health issues that deal with my symtoms?

i went back today and got 5 other test and retested me for strep. the doctor said it is definitly most likely NOT strep throat but wants to make sure.

they also didnt put me on any antibiotics!! and to the person who said that i messed around with the wrong guy- i dont have a boyfriend and i dont mess around! im 15 and never had my first kiss cause im not like that. also the doctors actually did the swab and it came back negative!

Its NOT Strep Throat???????
GET BACK INTO your doctor or med center ASAP/IMMEDIATELY!!!! Have them re-test you!
Did they put you on a course of antibiotics????
Drink lots of water and non acidic juices. Keep well hydrated.
Could be allergies, sinus, post nasal drip etc.

Now I will caution this answer with a question of my own... It might sound nasty but I ask because my daughter came home with this.. did you engage in oral sex at anytime before your sore throat started? Something the doctor didn't check for in a girl so young...Chlamydia.. a sexually transmitted disease she received from oral sex with her promiscuous boyfriend. That may not be the answer.You might try chloroceptic throat spray when it's really bad. Antibiotics are an answer only when the infection is persistant. Some of the newer and stronger AnitB's you only take one a day for 7 to 10 days. If this helps I hope it does if not You still need to see your doctor and insist on getting some drugs(Anti'B's). Hope you feel better. What ever you get do not get Amoxicillan the problem with this AB is it is to old and does very little to help and you do not want this to come back with a vengance.

That sounds like either tonsilitis or strep. Did they actually do a swab for strep or did they just look and say it's nothing? Go back and get a proper swap done.

It could still be strep. My daughter had it for six weeks before the test came back positive. Also, it could be thrush (yeast infection in the mouth). Keep bugging the doctors and hope you feel better soon.

May I tell u something? Deworm yourself with either Mebendazole or similar drugs. I think that should have been done prior to all these. Take some capsules containing lactobacillus or have curd or buttermilk along with your main meals. I think thats what you need

It can be one of at least 35 things that I can think of. Wait for the results of the bloodwork. And drink lots liquids.

do you have allergies? it might just be post nasal drip but your doctor should have thought of that try taking some claritin and see if the sore throat goes away
