I can sympathize. I used to get panic attacks and had terrible insomnia.

I don't know if your situation is the same as mine because I don't know how old you are. Mine was caused by hormone fluctuations from menopause.

As soon as I started using natural progesterone cream, it got better.

Once in a while I wake up early and can't get back to sleep. When that happens, I just get up. There's no sense staying in bed and worrying about it.

You might want to go the doctor for a check-up, just to rule out anything physical.

Good Luck. You'll be alright.

as with all human problems there is always a deeper underlying issue that is unresolved which causes and exxaggerates it. i am unclear what yours are but if you want my advise:
1.stay away from caffeine and metabolsme enhancing food after 9 pm
2. make sure your bedroom is clean and organized as this would calm your nerves and you know what.
3.i drink a hot cup of milk to sleep .that usually helps for some scientific reson my brain fail to uncover.
4.and try eating bananas too. that is another scientific mystery. as long as it works huh?
5.if all of the above fails , then go see a doctor or try one of em alternative medicine .
6. read something written by barbara taylor bradford. if this doesn't do it for you then you are in serious trouble.

When nothing works, like even prescribed or OTC medicine, I lay there. I lay there and I try to think about what is keeping me awake. And then I wonder, why I keep doing this to myself!!! I know I'm going to be tired, why don't I just close my eyes and go to sleep.
So I start thinking about the problems I am going through, I get up, I attempt to handle as many of them as I can on the computer, in the house, doing laundry, washing dishes, whatever. And about 1 to 2 hours later, I finally fall asleep.

I stay up on here answering questions........ LOL

I am SUPPOSE to take my Seroquel 25mg nightly for my sleep problems but well....... lol hmmmmmm

I don't like the after effects the next day. So that is WHY I don't take them all the time.

I usually go to bed when I get really tired or it's extremely late. The when I do get into bed, I think... think.... think my mind is wired up. Vicious cycle.

Don't eat 2 hours before you sleep, don't spend more than an hour lying awake in bed [get up and go somewhere else, and come back], don't excercise 2 hours befre you sleep, and go to bed and wake up the same time every day..

..or that's what I read in a magazine, but you should see a doctor too

Dear Friend,

Drink a glass of water mixing sugar and Inhale 30 times as big as you can. After this take a book of your interest and try to read with a free mind.

honey if you're getting panic attacks you need to see a doctor so he can prescribe you anxiety medication. are you depressed? usually the two come together.... anyway, under any other circumstances i'd take 2 tylenol pm.

I usually think of what I what to dream about, then start that dream in my head (should work if you have enough imagination)... after a while the dream gets crazier and you lose consciousness...

it also works if you have bad dreams, 'cause sometimes you CAN control it by starting it consciously.

Try Tylenol PM. It's not too extreme, but it knocks me out when I am having insomniac nights.
