I got this bug bite, I'm not sure if it was a mosquito or spider but I was at a park. Anyways, it's itching like crazy. My mom has it worse, she's got two bites on her arm and a whole bunch around her ankles. I can only imagine my mom's misery. How do we make the itching stop? Any advice?

Don't scratch. I have about 20 bites right now. I got them all yesterday and today. I bought some calamine lotion and I'm slathered in it. It helps. Aloe is better though, so use that. If you have an aloe plant or snything. rub the juice from inside the leaves on your bites. It works the best.

Scratching is the worst thing you can do. It ill only make them itch more.

Caladryl lotion(calamine & benadryl),
Hydrocortisone(external use only: lotion, creme).
Benadryl(oral suspension, caplets) *Make sure you are not allergic to Benadryl, always read the directions)
Drink lots of water, or drinks consisting, mostly of water.
Hydration helps the body rid itself of pollutants, faster. Process of dilution is effective.
Study the bite mark: is there pus, is the site getting better or worse?
Study the area in which you live, so that you will know what kind of lions, tigers & bears there are. Oh My! Hope this helps. Have a great day! CM

If you don't have cortisone or anti itch cream use either toothpaste or mix some baking soda into a paste & apply.

in the uk the most efficacious soother for insect bites is indubitably 'anthisan'.

anthisan's major active ingredient is mepyramine maleate (an antihistamine).

perhaps you need to talk to your pharmacist.
