No, but it will depend upon what you consider is lacking in bass. They are high-efficiency loudspeakers that are designed to produce high sound pressure levels without the need for super output amplifiers/receiver. Klipsch's Reference line uses horn loaded tweeters (and midranges in some models) which may pronounce the mids and highs in some rooms, thus making the bass response sound less prevelent. Listen and compare -ideally, see if you can try them out in your own listening/home theater room and your ears will let you know. Also, if you like the speakers otherwise, but want more bass, Klipsch makes some pretty good powered subwoofers that will fill in that area for you.

NO! they sure do not. i did a bass test on my rf-35's, my g/f didnt believe there wasnt a sub hooked up. klipsch are all around great speakers, and there rsw-12 is one of the best subs i have ever heard.
