You are spot on. It is pure hypocrisy to call people defending their own country, which is illegally attacked and occupied by US and British troops, "insurgents" or even "terrorists".
And you can be sure that in case our countries were in the same situation as Iraq and Afghanistan, all the politicians who talk now about "terrorists" would ask us to resist the aggression and be very happy if we did so.

The real terrorists are George W. Bush, Tony Blair and those who happily support their warcrimes around the world.

Well, lets look another, more worth fighting for war, such as World War Two. Would you say that the Allies were terrorists for enlisting and fighting for that real cause. They were certainly fighting for democracy. They were fighting for their country and the lives of innocent people. They may have killed, but they were not terrorists. People who put innocent lives in harms way for their own selfish beliefs are terrorists. I personally do not agree with the war today and have little to justify on that, but fighting for democracy is not a terrorists act, that is fighting for freedom.

You obviously don't mean the terrorists in Iraq then as they are not fighting for their own country as many of them come from Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Saudi, Syria, Lebanon, South East Asia etc.

Or maybe you mean the Iraqi Sunni Muslims who are killing the Iraqi Shi'ite Muslims

Or maybe you mean the Baathist Fedayeen who are blowing up Iraqi policemen so that there is no security structure in place to allow transition, and the occupation army to go home.

Because the definition of terrorist is one of subnational covert or clandestine groups. An occupation army is generally wanted by the majority of peace loving folks/residents. Most of the residents are afraid for the occupation forces to leave since the country will be thrown into anarchy, mostly by foreign 'terrorists.'

An occupation army cannot fight for democracy. It's sole reason for being there is to hold and suppress the nation it is occupying. The fight for democracy is a moot point as the nation getting the democracy has to want it. Not get invaded and then have it shoved on them.

In the U.S., a man who is fighting against us is called a terrorist, and one who is fighting for us is a "freedom fighter" or compatriot.
And, make no mistake, America, the occupation army you are referring to, is not trying to spread Democracy. America itself isn't a democracy; it is a constitutional republic. We would not be in Iraq if we were a direct democracy. It is trying to spread capitalism. America has never supported democracy. Free people are too hard to control.

I'm going to be nice, I don't approve of the war I do support our troops, Now that said. If I was defending my country I would NOT be killing my own people as the TERRORIST are doing. Defend against what , better place to live without fear or a dictator that kills family's and baby's because you don't like him. You need to get your head out of your rear and smell the air.

They aren't defending thier own country unless they are fighting for the new Iraqi government. The opposition is mostly foreign trained, funded, and commanded troops from Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and so forth. There are hardly any Iraqis who oppose the new government. Only outside influences and foreign interlopers.

By the nature of his actions. A terrorists strikes non-military targets and kills innocent people. How is highjacking a plane in a foreign country, flying it into a building killing thousands of people that are pretty much clueless to world events and politics defending your own country? How is going to a foreign country, capturing impartial observers and workers and beheading them on camera defending your own country?

Because in order to politically motivate a war that was started merely for money and power, the government and its puppet media try to claim a moral high ground, casting the determined people of other nations as extreme wackos or violent minorities. Is America justified in killing innocents because it kills with more sophisticated tehnology, or because white Christians deserve to own the world?
