I'd be glad. there are too many dead-end teenagers now. 3 years in the military would do alot of them good. Although, I would have to say it needs to be changed to include females as well. There are just as many useless females than males.

I'd be ticked off. But there would never be a draft because they would have to draft women too because the military is equal opportunity.
The people won't let the government send their mothers and daughters to war. .

It won't happen with this adminstration. If it did Bush's numbers will drop fast and further than ever before (can't get much further he already had a 35% approval rating so far this year). And the last thing Bush wants is to be shot dead or impeached.
People would either move or suck it up. My husband is already in the military so I really don't have a choice what happens to him now.

I served in an all volunteer military (Navy) and would prefer that the military stay on a volunteer basis. When people are forced to be in the military, some of them tend to not give their all. And believe me, ...when your life depends on the shipmate next to you doing their duty to their utmost ability, this becomes an very important issue. Anyway, ...do we really need the draft? I doubt it.

Ain't gonna happen. When the weapons of the day were rifles and artillery pieces, turning a recruit into a soldier was fairly easy. With today's high-tech weapons, it is not: you cannot turn a draftee into a weapons expert and get good use of him if he will be out in two years: you have to have people who are willing to make a career out of the military.

I wouldn't support it under any circumstance. Even if the U.S. was being invaded, the last person I want standing next to me is the guy who doesn't believe in what we're fighting for.
Every person in the military should be there of their own free will.

Listen to CV59Stormvet. As a vet myself, I can tell you that an ALL volunteer service is the best thing that ever happened to our country. This way, the command knows that they have folks willing to do whats needed to learn their jobs, and make the right choices.

If it's for a nonBush war, sign me up. Most people would run like hell though because they want the freedom without having to pay the price.
