male sterilization or NSV (non-surgical vasectomy)is much more simple and totally safe. it doesn't involve major surgery and can be done right in the doctor's office.
the surgery itself for female sterlization is simple but recovery time is alot longer and it of course DOES require acutal surgery in the hospital-most of the time it's outpatient-mine was. Doctor will make two small incisions-one inside the belly button and one right below the pubic bone, after this is done-the doctor inserts a camera into one incision and the instrument used to cut and burn the fallopian tubes closed into the other. The whole process takes about 20 minutes. I went home about 2 hours after the surgery was done and was up walking around 7 hours later.Totally back to normal in 48 hours.
the biggest thing to remember is that female sterilization IS reversible but it takes a great deal of difficulty to do so-male reversal is much easier.
I chose to have mine surgery done b/c my husband at the time had alot of medical problems including hypertension (high blood pressure) and anxiety. after having 3 children i knew i didnt want anymore and i could handle surgery better than he could

It probably depends upon whether you are asking a man or woman! It is easier for a man since "stuff" is already on the outside but some men are squeamish about that. One of my ex-boyfriend's got a vasectomy and he was a little sore, but healed quickly.
Everytime I had a baby, they always asked me at the hospital if I wanted to get my tubes tied. And I also got a lot of people's unwanted advice about that, but I would NEVER get it done. I am not into getting optional surgery.

I had a vasectomy because I didn't want to put my wife through a major surgical event. For men, its two very small incisions and some ice down time. I was up and back to work in 3 days.

Hubby had a vasectomy almost 2 years ago, and our sex life is still great! No problems in that department...besides don't need to cover up either, lol!

honestly they are both equally affective and both ahve the same risks and such.
there is nothing that stops an egg or sperm meeting up unless something is COMPLETELY removed.
i think its a matter of opinion.
they are both easy to do for the doctors.
just remember it's FOREVER.

I would have to say vasectomies for men are much better simply because they're more easily reversible.
