I take Lasix which is the brand name for furosamide. I have the same problem you do only I retain fluid in my hands as well, However, at 18, I don't know if a doctor will prescribe such a potent drug. One way to keep from retaining fluids is to stay off salts. I am 60 and have been on this med for about 10 years. i never heard of someone your age taking this med. If it is a serious problem and your doctor does prescribe a diuretic, Lasix is the best. good luck and stay of the salt.

Maybe you should go in for your check up! That way you can ask your doctor about this problem.

Keep your feet elevated to reduce swelling.
