My father in law just passed away leaving his wife (my husbands stepmom) behind. She is in her late 60's and not all there. I think she has slight dementia and altzheimers. We are just now going through all the paperwork and it looks like there is not a lot of money left. We cannot take her in at our home and it seems her children are not going to. Does anyone know of agencies that help with homes/hospitals for the elderly that are affordable. Looking at some places in Lousiana (she lives there we are in CA) most are in the 1300 a month range!! She only makes 400 on Social security. Any help/advice would be SOOOOOOO appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

Look into Medicare and other Social Security programs. The offer much more than just retirement benefits.
