I think its mean of those kids to deny the rabbit the fruitful goodness of trix.

i know right. those kids are just plain selfish. didn't the rabbit create trix. i thought he did. i feel sorry for that rabbit. i mean like the rabbit gets so close to having trix but then those kids have to be rude and selfish and take the trix from him. man that rabbit never gives up.

The trix story is a parable. The trix are not really that great, but the rabbit can't stop wanting them because he can't have them.
Gereal Mills, or whoever, is teaching us a valuable lesson about temptation.
If you give the rabbit the tricks then he wil see that they are not that great and he will just move on to some other illusion.
The Rabbit must learn to know that the Children are good and would not treat him this way if the Trix would really bring him that much happiness. If the Rabbit can learn that lesson, then he will have mastered temptation, and he will be the happier for it.
That is why Trix are for kids.
Children do not have understanding, and because of this they throw fits when they are deprived of things. Often, though, they are deprived of those things because of very good reasons.
When we say Trix are for kids, we don't mean Trix specifically, but Trix as a symbol of the indulgence of temptation.
It is not that Trix are for kids, but that the ignorant enslavement to temptation is for kids, that is for people of child like minds.
We should all strive to learn from the rabbit, and see how terrible a thing the enslavement to temptation is.
Until the Rabbit learns to act on his understanding and not his pure childlike desire he will never be happy.

Ok am I the only old person in here? lol Actually the rabbit has gotten the trix!!!! Several years ago they changed the shape of the cereal, from little round balls(like Kix) To the fruit shapes they have now. The advertisers made a big deal out of it. The comercials kept going and going saying that the rabbit was going to finally get his Trix.....tune in and see....lol. Well........He got'em. Then after the shapes changed he couldn't have them anymore. Gawd I feel sooooooooooooo old....lol.

i agree i think the rabbit should get some trix for crying out loud. if i remember correctly in the mid 90s they did let the rabbit have some trix but i could be wrong.

Because if the writers let the rabbit have the Trix, the cereal would need a new gimmick. The same with lucky charms, the kids will neeever reach him.

This is the real reason why: because it makes many people like you think about it, and when you go to the supermarket and are trying to decide what cereal to buy, the extra thinking you've done will increase the chances of you picking up a box of Trix. It doesn't mean people will always do this but, it will certainly increase the chances, and therefore the comercial has done its job, which is to inform you and persuade you to buy the product. To sum it up , money , money , money. People are always thinking of cool and interesting comercials because of money.
