In this situation, I would have a birthday party for them both together, maybe in between the two birthdays ,... and then give both presents at once.
What are the age differences? Would they mind a combined party?
If that is not a possibility, then I would still give the younger son his as well, but i might consult my older son after I gave him his, and ask what he thinks ... usually that child will agree it is a good idea.

Why don't you explain to the oldest that you decide to have their birthdays together. Just have the party on the youngest child birthday. And give it to both of them at the same time.

I think it is better to give each gift to each child on his birthday..otherwise every time it is the oldest one's birthday, the youngest will expect a gift. Plus, the oldest will no longer feel that HIS own birthday is special anymore.

I would give them the gifts together, that way they can ride together and the oldest can keep an eye on the younger. What great gifts. I know they are going to be happy. they will both understand your dilemma, and explain it to them. they will be so happy to receive the go karts I don't think it will matter. Good Luck.

easy answer... when caught in such a situation you two can pick a neutral day or use whoever comes first to have a bday party like on a weekend, be honest and explain to them that why you are having one big birthday bash because kids are smarter than we give them credit for, and give them their gifts at the same time.
oooo or you can give them the gifts on the first kid's birthday and then have the party on the second day.

Wow!!! Tough call...But while reading your question I thought of a great way around your dilemma. Don't give them on the actual days. Pick a day before the actual b-days and make sure they know its for their b-day, early...
I am glad not to have the problem though.

no then give it to both of them on a neutral unbirthday
or to each one on his individual birtday
otherwise you are on very shaky political ground -
would not risk it myself
