If there is no image in the viewfinder, chances are your viewfinder could be faulty.. It is best to send to the nearest service centre in your area.. Let the technicians advise you further on that..

Is it a LCD display in the viewfinder?
Normally there's a button that switches between the viewfinder and the bigger preview screen. If you try to access the menu system does anything appear?

Did you take the cover off?
By the way, Canon sound better than Oly.

Sounds like a stuck mirror. I hope it is still under warrenty.
