all the books of the New Testament, from the gospels to John the Revelator, all the teachings in these books revolve around one singular notion: the diety of Jesus Christ.
if Jesus is God made flesh, and the NT is right, there is no need for any further gospel. if Jesus is not, then everybody's lying. and if every record of Him is fraught with lies, how can He be called a prophet?

okay, look at this. every account of Jesus (real or otherwise) has been read and collected by the Vatican. most of it is in the KJ Bible, the rest of it is in the Catholic bible. of all the accounts I have read about Christ, that is the one thing they all have in common.

Interesting. CS Lewis in his book Mere Christianity has said something rather similar, about God being absolutely divine or absolutely nothing:

I quote, "I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

A critical examination of the New Testament will inevitably lead to one of 3 conclusions: Jesus, the Nazarene, was either a liar, a madman or exactly who the New Testament claims he was. You are absolutely right in your conclusion that there is no need for any further gospel. The New Testament is complete and a trustworthy guide that reveals the nature of Jesus, the
expectations of Christians and the "requirements" for "salvation". If however, you conclude that Jesus was either liar or madman then the New Testament is naught but an interesting commentary on the human condition. And while Jesus might not be divine, he would still be a prophet since a prophet is simply a person who proclaims a message..

There is always a need for the gospel to be heard..so lost sinners may be saved and have eternal life through Jesus Christ. No record of Him is fraught with lies. Jesus was perfect. Satan is the author of confusion and he has turned so many away from God. Please don't let that old devil influence you. Pray and ask God's guidance and He will help you. We can always lean on Him. Best wishes and God bless you!

I'm with C.S. Lewis. Either Jesus is who He says He is, or He's a crazy dude. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

With that said, I think it's awfully bold of you to make the assertion that every record of Him is fraught with lies without at least giving a site to support the assertion.

PS- Quoting C.S. Lewis is a-okay. He was a man of God who approached the Bible logically. There's nothing wrong in learning from others as long as they're in the Word.

You said it, if Jesus didn't raise from the dead, then we are the most pathetic people (Xtians)!

See I Corinthians 15.

However Jesus is not a liar! Don't wait till Judgment day for complete proof!

I agree! He was either the Messiah, or he was the biggest lie ever told. He can not be a prophet.

I chose to believe he is the Messiah! Praise be to GOd.
