If you are in a public place just start squawkin loudly, something like "Oww You're hurting meeee!.... " or "Let go of meeee!" If it is a drinking establishment you should have no shortage of big galoots just dying to "rescue you".

Don't ditch him.........tell him how you feel, make a scene if necessary. that way, he knows how you feel and maybe, just maybe, he'll change his ways. Either that, or you'll never have to worry about seeing him again.
