In the meat trade this sort of product is referred to as "lips and arseholes". In other words it is composed of all the body parts that would be unsaleable if they were sold individually in their original form. Nothing of the modern animal carcase is thrown away, it is either sold as recognisable muscle or organ meat which is what most people prefer or it is heavily processed until it is an homogeneous mass which can be turned into products like peperami. These usually taste horrible so they have lots of spices and herbs added to make them "edible".

It's a whole lot of an animal, if the ingredients are anything to go by.

The ingredients list the percentage of pork as 108%...

The explanation of this appears to be that the curing process evaporates the extra bit of water that makes up all that pork.

Yes it has bits of animal in it. No you don't really need to know what part. The same parts that go into most sausages. If you saw you probably wouldnt want to eat pepperami anymore.

Lips, legs, guts, balls, cocks, innards, eyes. Probably all go into it them one way or another.

Not if you want to keep eating them!

I suppose they do look a bit like a shriveled up penis, but which animals? Uurrrrggggghhh! It would explain the 'attitude'!

Cool adverts though.

Scrag end of pigs butt. And ears. Any stuff that squelched on the floor of the slaughterhouse. All seasoned to taste yummy.
