Drill a hole about double what the thickness of the wire is and make sure you put a grommet on the wire, silicone doesn't always work the best and grommets are easy to find and don't wear out as bad!

If your car has an automatic transmission, look for the factory clutch knock-out in the firewall (located to the left of the brake pedal). If the vehilce already has a manual transmission, there should be just enough space between the clutch and the brake pedal (make sure you are below the master cylinder!) to drill a hole for your power wire. Remember measure everything up as many times as you can from both inside the engine compartment and inside the driver's footwell to make certian you do not drill into any factory wiring or, heaven forbid, through the master cylinder.

on the fire wall of the car there are black round rubber plugs find one closes to the battery and with a flat head screw driver pop out the plug and you will see a round hole in the fire wall where you pulled it out now take the plug a put a hole in the center with a knife screw driver ect.... do not make it to big you want your amp wire to fit kinda snug to keep water engine noise and fumes ect... out of the car now your amp wire is through the center of the plug now reinstall the plug get inside your car with a flash light and shine till you find your wire pull it through and the rest is up to you if ther are no plugs find your main wire harness that comes off the fire wall and put a hole in the rubber gromet thats on the fire wall where your harness comes out of but be careful you dont want to damage any wires

the only thing john d forgot to mention is that sometimes there are no grommets or seals in a feasable area, like on my blazer...in this case you must drill a hole and seal it with silicon afterwords...
