Yes it is. This is a better time for you to spend thinking about the king of girl and eventually woman that you want to be -- and thinking about a boyfriend will just distract you and bring you troubles.
There is just nothign good really that can come from having a boyfriend at such a young age... usually this will just lead to him kissing you or getting you do to do stuff that he and his friends will later talk about, you will get called names and feel very bad about yourself and people at school will call you a slut.
This will all lead you to have a lower self-esteem and feel like a not so great person, and then you will continue to make bad choices about boys and continue to get used. Worst thing would be if you then start having sex...
You have to stop and think about these things with your head -- the same head that you would have to use if you had to make a dr's appt to try to figure out why you have sores on your body after having sex or messing around; and the same head that you would have to use to figure out what to do if you got pregnant (take the easy / disgusting way out and get an abortion and live with the fact that I killed my baby for the rest of my life?)
Or would you take the tough road and get a job, stay with your parents until the baby was 18 yrs old or do the most responsible thing and give the baby up for adoption and deal with those thoughts for the rest of your life.
So don't put yourself at risk for these things, and don't worry about boyfriends until much LATER in your life when you can deal with the consequences.
Ideally you would have loving parents that would be teaching you this through love and example every day -- if you don't have this, then be very strong and be the example to yourself, you are worth it and can do it - OK? Big hug :)

Yes! Having male and female friends is fine, but when you are getting serious about one, 12 is too young for that. Ask yourself the "what if I become pregnant?" question. What will you do then? Will your boyfriend stay with you? Don't complicate life too quickly. Stay young while you can......enjoy ALL friends and LIFE.

If all you desire is a companion to share conversation and a package of graham crackers and milk on the front steps of your home, with the door open and mom inside, then it's a most appropriate age for it. If you're thinking of dating and going places, just the two of you, and without a parent along, then no I don't think so.

I DONT THINK 12 IS TOO YOUNG JUST B AWARE OF THE GUY UR GONNA GO OUT WIT DONT LET HIM PRESSURE U. N MAKE HIM A FRIEND SO HE CAN MEET THE FAMILY DO FUN THINGS TOGETHER. GAIN TRUST FROM UR PARENTS B/C THEY'LL WORRY ABOUT U N IF HAVING SEX OR NOT TRUST ME IF U GET ALL OF THIS DONE WHEN UR OLDER IT WILL BE MUCH EASIER!!!!!

yes it really is "you can really take your life in the direction of no return,being pregnant before your 25 is bad, its harder to stop than it is to never have started,wait focus on your school work get ahead in you class room with knowledge keep clear of boys for a fue years or you could be the head of your class room for other reasons, boys always get what they want from girls, who the girl is has never mattered ,be careful

If you're just talking about a little school yard boy toy then, no. However, if you're talking about dating, sex and things of that nature then YES. Don't try to grow up too fast, you have your whole life to be old.

just be friends, if you go out with the guy right now, chances are you are gana break up and then it'll be over. just be friends right now and take it from there. you're only 12, you have a lot of time left in your life

yes, 12 is to young to have a boy friend... it nice to have a boyfriend if u matured. if u are to young having a boyfriend. i think it will be curse to yourself.
at age12 are in Primary age. so it is not good to have a boyfriend that age.
