Okay, first, find the kind that has the plastic applicator. Use the smallest. Find a comfortable position, like sitting on the tiolet, putting your foot on something while standing, or laying down. When you insert it, do it slowly, and see what is the most comfortable. Always read the directions before you start. At first it will be a little odd, but it shouldn't hurt. I used to be a little scared, too, but now it's just unwrap and go. By the way, don't listen to any idiots who say foolish things about you. Sometimes it's hard to try new things. Especially when it's so personal. Just try to relax and if it doesn't feel comfortable just use pads a little longer.

I am a Lifeguard, and I was forced to use a Tampon. It did at first but eventaully you got use to it. I would not recommend only use a tampon though, switch from a tampon to a pad. I was in the hospital bc I left a tampon in for to long, that can also happen if you use the wrong size. Also if you are scared about useing one practice putting one in while you are not ragging, that might help and also when buying them don't by cardboard applicators, try to get plastic. I will only use Tampax Pearls they are the best.
Keep on trying and it won't hurt.

I was trerrified when I was a teen to use a tampon, so I understand how you feel. It will not hurt. Use the slender tampons with the plastic applicators. Just read the instructions. Don't worry you can use tampons and it won't hurt you at all, because you have an opening for it to go in. Once you use tampons, you will wonder what you were ever afraid of.

dont listen to the first guy. he's right he has no idea what hes talking about. you dont need to lose your virginity to use tampons. if you're scared or tense the tampon will not go inside of you correctly and it will feel uncomfortable. Just think of it this way: you arent the first person ever to use a tampon (millions of women do). Plus they are way more comfortable than a pad when inserted properly. Just relax, take some deep breaths. After wearing them a few times, you'll say to yourself, why didn't i use these sooner?!

It won't hurt...millions and millions of women use them everyday. Try using a lubricant like KY jelly if you want. It may make it easier to slide in. Just try to relax and breathe when inserting it. Read the directions on the tampon package. Ask a friend or an adult women for more advice.

It will hurt a little, or not at all, depending on if your hymen (the bit of skin that covers a girl's vaginal opening) is really intact or not. Regardless, it can be confusing to really figure out your own anatomy, since its kinda hard to see. It took me several times to figure it out myself, especially with those silly cross-section diagrams they put in the instructions. The instructions should help somewhat though. Be patient, you'll figure it out!

It is not a good idea to use a tampon if you are a virgin. It could remove your "proof of virginity" and that does hurt! I didn't use tampons until after I had been married. If you have had sex then it shouldn't hurt. But please don't just go have sex just so you can use a tampon.

The first time I used one i was afraid to cause everyone said it hurt but it wasn't to bad it was a little uncomfertable at first but you get used to them and then you don't feel them.
i advise you used plastic applicators especailly your first time.
just try to stay calm because if your not then it will be hard to get in cause the muscles will tense.
I hope that helped somewhat.

Good luck with that, I've been trying for 35 years and never could get the hang of them, even if I get it right, it isn't long before I can feel it and it starts bugging me, or the little string irritates me. I just stick with pads.

I am assuming that you are a virgin since you are having the problem with the tampon. My advice, don't use them until you lose your virginity.
That is not to say to lose your virginity tomorrow in order to explore the use of tampons.
Best of Luck.
