Because he's insecure. If he is trying to get a reaction out of you, and I believe he is when he tells you such hurtful crap, then he is a prick. Let him go.

I agree with the person who said he was insecure...
Sounds to me like he is trying to reassure you that others girls are interested in him so you don't start to wonder for something 'better'...
Having said that, the other person could be right too. He is saying that because he actually has a massive ego and wants to let you know that he isn't interested in having an exclusive relationship.
You will know which it is by the type of person he is and the way he treats you! If he is really nice and caring and always there when you need him I'd go with the first option. If he doesn't call when he is supposed to and he flirts like mad with other girls then I'd say the second option. Good Luck.

If he really thought it, he should keep it to himself, he's probably making it up, or delusional. He should take your feelings more into consideration,that number one- you probably don't want to hear it, and what purpose does it accomplish with you? If he wants to make you jealous, just beat him over the head with a book. Not really, umm- what to do? Tell him you don't give a bleep what his brain is conjuring up and not to think about other girls so much, or you may just leave him because he should only have room in his brain for you. But I agree with a coment above that all guys are not insensitive cads, maybe they just find it amusing and just want to relay that observation to you and maybe they'd like a high shreke of a laugh to show them that you agree that it's very funny too, because you and he both know that you are totally into each other and no one else poses any threat what so ever.

Because he is insecure. He needs to build himself up to you so that he thinks that you are worried about other girls. Insecure guys love a jealous girlfriend it makes them feel more powerful. Just talk to him and get to the bottom of it. Tell him that he doesnt have to feel insecure around you because i am guessing if he had anything to be insecure about than you wouldnt be with him right?

He's just letting you know he has other options... This is a way to make you more interested in him. Maybe he feels insecure of the way you feel about him. It's a little test. If you're into him, let him know that your better than those other women.... if you're not really into him, then tell him he and that other woman would make a good couple. OOOPS...... that will make him want you more!

he does it to make you jealous. some guys are weird like that, and think it will bring they're girl in closer. I can see right through it. It bugs the you know what out of me. Just ask him about it if its buggin you so bad. Its the only way to resolve it if its bothering you that bad.

because he wants u to no he could leave u if he wanted and is trying to get a rise out of u so just tell him that a guy likes u and makeup a name and tell him thats this guy said he would do anything for u and that he said if u were to brake up with ur bf he'd be there for more then a friend

He wants you to step things up, to compete with the other girls, to come on a little stronger for him. Maybe he's trying to make you jealous or do something you and him haven't done yet.

because he is either arrogant and full of himelf or feels so small inside he needs outside stimulation to think he is worth anything, why is he your bf if thats all he talks about? isn't that annoying? you can do better. try doing the same to him, tell him about the guys that like you, he'll learn to shut up quickly.

Maybe they do. We're not all insensitive clods. If that's the case, he's probably entertained by the idea, and wants to share it with you.
