Not..all American are like that!! It is after all a nation of immigrants..and it's immigration policy despite all the controversy is actually much more liberal than many Western European countries...
Only 90% of those who use the immigration section (or as I call it the hate section!!) are the arrogant, ignorant racists!

I don't disagree with you that some Americans are arrogant and racist, but if you look around you'd notice that so are the French, and the Iranians, and the Japanese, the Germans, Turks, Russians, Hutus and Tsusis...
The point (other than the one on your head) is that arrogance, racism, and stupidity are inherent in all people. It seems like America is more so, but that's because everyone's looking at us. Do you think anyone would give a rats backside if the president of Burundi was caught getting a BJ from some young woman? Of course not. But an American President catches the flu and you could very well hear about it on the six o'clock news in Bujumbura.
As for everyone speaking English... why not? What's so wrong with that? Wouldn't that actually be a POSITIVE thing? Wouldn't that allow for easier communication between nations? How is that a bad thing? And if not English then what language would you prefer? Given that the generators of the most popular movies, television, music, and literature are English speaking countries, it really makes it easy to learn this language. In addition, most (all?) of the software code that technology runs on is English based.
We're already heading in that direction, why fight it? It doesn't mean you have to stop speaking your native tongue.

Well at least you're not making broad, unsupported assumptions.
I could care less what language is spoken in other countries. I DO care what is spoken here in the US. English is our language. Any official government documents should be in English, if for no other reason than for cost savings. When you come to this country, you agree to learn and understand English. When the government prints in another language, or requires others to provide information in other languages, it subverts the intent of the law, and expands government. Two undesireable things.
Secondly, there is no ban on immigrants. Not even close. Over 1 million Mexicans alone are legally admitted to this country each year. The ban is on ILLEGAL ALIENS. Those that wish to skirt our laws with their very first act on our soil. As a country, we have the right to regulate the numbers and sources of immigrants. We have NO OBLIGATION to the world to provide a place for the poor to help themselves. That is the obligation of their native country.
The arrogance comes from the fact that we know we are the best country in the world, bar none. The immigrants of the world have voted us that distinction. You don't see people from around the world trying to sneak into Mexico or Russia or Somalia. They ALL want to come here.
And I have to give you the stupidity award. Clearly, you didn't think before you wrote. Educate yourself before you pop off next time.

As for language, English is the official language of the US, so if you want to move here permanently I would think that you would want to be able to communicate and would learn it. I certainly would learn the native language of any country I decided to relocate to if I was to do such a thing.
Banning immigration? No. Controlling it? Yes!!!
The US can't even take care of its own citizens at the moment, so any unorganized mass influx, like the numbers coming in through the mexican border is only going to tax an already overwhelmed system. There is a system in place for people to come to the US legally, so why can't they use it?
This is not arrogance or stupidity, but common sense. If we suddenly moved 20,000 people into your home city, what would that do to you?

There is a process immigrants go through to become citizens of the US. Many have taken the steps to become US citizens the legal way and some have been waiting up to 10 years to obtain citizenship.
There are so many illegal Mexicans immigrants crossing the boarder its to hard to handle. This causes economic terrorism to the US. The demands are put on US to provide food, housing, medical, and jobs. This is a huge problem in the US.
Many are rude, march in the streets throwing trash in the streets, flying the Mexican flag above the US flag, demand everything be available to them in Spanish and the demands go on and on. These people are illgeal aliens. ILLGEAL to be here to start with.
This is not about being racist. Arrogant is coming from the other party not the US. I don't think the US is wanting to ban immigrants from coming here at all. They just need to go through the process in doing so instead to rushing the boarder looking for a handout.

I agree that the US is is more arrogant and racist than most other countries. I am a US Marine and been to many other countries.
English is a business language. If you don't speak english you will run into problems with international business. Is it aragant of me to think everyone should speak it? YES. But if I come to your country I will make an attempt to learn your language and culture before I go.
The US does not want to ban immigrants. We just want to stop the illegal entry into our country. If they get here without breaking any of our laws I do not have a problem with them. But when they sneak across our boarders they tend to bring drugs and other problems.
If you consider this stupid then either we have two difrent understandings of what stupid means or you are just thowing out insults to goat a reaction out of people.

We are not arrogant nor racist. We are law abiding and we want people who enter our country to abide by our laws. The first one they need to abide by is to enter legally. We believe that in order to share our country and be socially assimilated we all need to converse in one language and the American people speak English. When someone comes here they should learn our language or THEY will not live as nicely because they will be left out of conversations and will not understand important things like directions, warnings, cautions, medical information, conversations with Doctors, policemen, their bosses or supervisors, co-workers, neighbors, etc. The rest of the world can speak pig-latin for all we care, but if you come to the USA, you need to speak ENGLISH.
You are more ignorant, stupid, idiotic and uneducated than our most uneducated so you are obviously not from the United States of America. You are WAY too much of a ÄÏÎвÒÑÚ¿Ò!
major tom up^ there--speak for yourself, YOU are the only one who LOOKS ORANGE on here! And what makes you think you can speak for Americans, you're not even FROM
the USA, you stinkin' meadow-muffin!

You are generalizing because not all americans want the world to speak english. As a matter of fact im trying to be multi-linguistic, and already know 2 other languages.
And we are not trying to ban the immigrants were trying to protect our country we are trying to protect our country from Illegals.
Where did you get your arrogance and stupidity?

I can tell that you are really ignorant. Let me help you out since you seem to know so little. In the United States of America we expect people in America to speak English because it is our language. Duh? Secondly I don't care what everyone else in the world speaks because we are not the world we are the United states. If you can't speak English then go somewhere that speaks your language. The third thing is we want to ban illegal immigrants, not immagrants. If you want to be an American then you should do it legally. If you don't want to do it legally then don't ***** about it.

I don't think that everyone in the world should speak English, and I have no objection at all to immigration into the United States. Part of the U.S.'s diversity is diversity of opinion. There is far from a consensus in the U.S. over immigration.

I am from the U.S. and I don't give a damn, nor do I know any Americans that give a damn, if you speak English or not unless you reside in this country. Quit bashing us all the time. Everyone else decided to start learning it to keep up with us. I have never had any problem with any other country's and don't understand why we are hated so much. At least I never used to until all the American bashing came into style.
