WinXP doesnt have MS Dos anymore.
You can get to a prompt, by the following
Hit Start->Programs->Accesories->Command Prompt
OR
Hit Start->Run. In this window, type cmdand hit Enter

Command Prompt is not true MS-DOS. It is still operating in a WinNT environment but just looks like DOS. If you have Windows XP don't expect your all your old DOS programs to run on it.

Adialog box will open and type cmd and then press enter

1) Click the "Start" button
2) Click the "Run" icon
3) In the "Open" field of the Run dialog box type "command" (no quotes)
4) Click "OK"
You are now at a command prompt
