If you walk 2.0-2.5mph on the treadmill for 5-15min. you will increase blood flow to the entire muscular-skeletal system. Do light lateral and diagonal stretches of the torso and rotation and flexion/extension through the entire range of motion of all joints.

"Stretch" has a different meaning to each person. For me, all the work I do around the house, shower, getting dressed and getting into the car, is my stretch before I workout. However, I do start out slow on my workout and increase after about 5 mins, for example, if I am going on the treadmill first, I would walk for 5 minutes increasing my speed each minute then I jog. According to a T.V. show, it is not good to "Stretch" cold muscles. Enjoy your workout !
