All semi-soft cheese are the best for melting.

Hard Cheeses like romano and parmesean are excellent toppings for their high salt flavor.

Chedder, Colby, Mozzerella, and Monteray are great toppers that are meant to melt on to the food.

mark is right hard cheeses are best but to add flavour use an edam or mozzie cheese as a topper. Provolone is good but cost effectiveness calls for the ones I mentioned.

I think that Kraft Velveeta cheese is great. It melts well and tastes very good. I use it in macaroni and cheese, topping baked potatoes, on top of spaghetti and almost everything else that I put cheese in or on.

It depends on what u are cooking. I love sharp cheddar or mild. Not just one cheese goes with everything but with the sharp or mild u can use them in alot of dishes.

Depends on what it is for...Parmesean is good for Italian, other times mozerrella..that way it is real stringy! yumm! Toppings is usually Parmesean, but any cheese that melts good like mozzerella is good.

Depends on what sort of flavor you want, but if I had my choice, it would be monterrey jack or cheddar. Combined they are great. I also love american cheese on my macaroni!!
