I shed so much, it's disgusting. On my hair ties, after I straighten it (i don't do so often, so I doubt that's the reason), while taking a shower, while brushing, basically whenever - my hair just keeps falling out. I don't think it's health issue or at least I hope not, what can I do to prevent this, is there a special shampoo or something?
If it's any help, I use Head and Shoulders Shampoo and Herbal Essences condition from damages/dry hair. I think it might have gotten worse after I started using conditioner now that I think about it, but I'm not quite sure.

An average woman loses hundreds of hairs a day. It's normal. I shed as well. The best thing for you to do is when you are taking a shower to run your fingers through it until you have gotten all the lose hairs. The only reason it seems like so much in a hair tie is because it can't fall out freely. The hair is restricted by the hair tie. Only start to worry if you notice a drastic change in the thickness of your hair. If there is none then you are quite normal.

Might want to see your doctor about this. I had the symptom of dry hair that was falling out and it turned out that I had low thyroid. I started on some medication and within a very short time my hair was looking great and I was feeling better than I had in ages.

Nioxin is a brand that will help stimulate the follicles in your head to keep them alive. So basically, it allows you to keep what you have.

Rogaine for Women seems to be working pretty well right now too...

And have your hair stylist recommend a shampoo and conditioner that is gonna be expensive but worth every penny

Try using a deep conditioner or a hair oil. Maybe a hot oil treatment.

My hair was totally baked and falling out from dying it so much and I put a hot oil treatment on it and it was MUCH better.

See your doctor...you might have a condition called allopecia. The faster you see him the better chance you have to treat this condition before it gets too advanced.

Not getting enough vitamins can cause your hair to fall out excessively.

my hair falls out a lot too. ive heard that it falls out when it gets too clean, which I wash it everyday, so that might be the problem.
