Hey Vulcan 1 this "fad" has been going strong for the last 25 years and the equipment is getting cheaper by the day, more manufacturers are puting systems in their new cars too. It's not going anywhere!
And to answer the question yes their are some a**holes out thier that abuse their subs especially to make other's mad, or they plain just don't care, i have personnally had a system in each of my last 5 cars over the past 10 years and never once have I had a complaint...... why you ask cause at stoplights or in residential areas I turn it down! Common courtesy! Now for you a**holes out there that don't care you're giving us all a bad name!

ok well i can agree that in the morning and late at night people shouldnt have their music going really loud but where i am from you get a freaking ticket at 3:00PM in the afternoon if they(cops) can hear a squeak out of your car and call it loud and uneccessary noise. I can understand about having loud music in the morning and late at night but really who hates it when its in the afternoon? if your in a house it last all of like 3 seconds when i lawn mower next door could last a freaking hour and there deible levels arelike the same!

Actually Mam, there is a difference between installing a set of subwoofers in your car to fill in the sound, and driving through your neighborhood at 10pm with windows down tryin to break the glass in every window.
*Not everyone with a system is immature and fullish.*
>>>Car audio is also a much safer alternative to other forms of "macho egotistic competition". Would you prefer us turning up our radios, or dragging down your street at 8AM?<<<

whoops . sorry, but i disagree. some towns have laws against
and i think is wrong. we all have ways to express ourselves
and even be noticed. as long as we live in the us i hold strong
to any rights we have and hope everyone else can see past the seconds that it takes for that car to pass. worry more about the felonies that take place around you.

They have the bass turned up very high. If you like a lot of bass you might like it.
