Because the vast majority of atheist rhetoric is about bashing religion (specifically Christianity). I will never understand that, when one group's identity is based upon denigrating another group. You would figure that if atheists had something informative to say about their own group, it would be about the positive things their group does ... instead they only voice negative things about religion.

It's really hard not to lump everybody into one labeled category like Christians or atheists. Not all Christians assume atheists are angry and not all atheists assume Christians are narrow minded. Please refrain from using the term Christian to speak for or about the rest of us who are not like those you have encountered. If you are an atheists, then so be it. You have made your choice to believe that the God of the Bible is not for you. I respect that. I am not comfortable with that, but, I will not burn a bridge between you and I because of it. My Christian faith tells me.."that some sow the seed, others water it, and others see the harvest". My apologies to you for the over zealousness of some Christians, they actually meant good, just need to be reminded that the job of transforming peoples minds and hearts belongs to the Holy Spirit, and that job is already filled. Hope this sheds a new light to your other drab view of Christians. Maranatha.

I don't think you're angry... misguided maybe, but not angry...God gave even Satan the freedom to choose. That is all we can do. I choose to believe in God the Father, the Son and The holy Spirit...you choose to belive someting different. Doesn't make you angry, just misinformed on christianity. Remember, christians are human, we screw up just like everyone else, but weare forgiven by God when we ask and are sincerely sorry for our actions. We all do the best we can.

Fear, Narrow Minded - and Refusal to understand or comprehend that they may be wrong about their beliefs. You and other Atheist are a threat otherwise they would not push their beliefs so hard.
If no one believes then it does not exist. Your Faith makes it real -for them and sorry NO one has the answers or EVERY one would be on board with ONE religion.
If that's not the case then they are just over sensitive and were only children used to getting their way... I am reaching here.

When people jump to conclusions they are victims of a cognitive distortion in the form of fortune telling or mind reading. Being a Christian doesn't automatically give people the ability to overcome this common malady. You just notice it more here because of the prevalence of people to jump to conclusions based upon how their mind interprets words written in a controversial discussion. Since they can't hear the tone of a person's voice or see their facial expressions their mind tends to fill in the blanks if they are not careful.

I am no so sure that it is other christians lying to them about atheists. More then likely they assume you are angry because what you believe makes them angry. You choose to not believe in their faith which makes them defensive. Anything you say, no matter how innocent, appears like an attack to them.

Christians always say things like "I need god, I couldn't do it alone." They are so addicted to their faith that they cannot imagine life without it. From their point of view, there is something wrong with us.
No matter how many times we point out that we are not angry or empty or sad they cannot accept this truth.

You questions are the results of your thoughts. That indicates what sort of a person you are. If you have the sense to accuses as the opinion of that individual and every individual has the right to have his own thoughts - then you will be a different person. You may probably start loving that unseen reality.

sounds to me your being acusational and confrontational already. depends on their faith really, I get it, your not Christian, great for you, but remember, to Christians, their faith is sacred, something they cherish, asking questions that question their faith, seek to derail their belief or are simply blasphemous because of the way the question is made, well.... it ticks people off.... you want to ask a Christian about their faith, have tact and be very respectful. Even then, it takes a very open mind to respond in a non defensive manner.... remember, like atheists, Christian's fend off attacks on their beliefs... every day. That makes them and you both automatically defensive....
