I believe that some are really searching and are crying out for help. They are truly worried about the outcome of judgment by God. I'm a christian but sometimes not sure therefore I ask questions for reassurance which increases my confidence in knowing that others believe as I do. Atheists need much prayer just like Christians do. I'm learning to reassure those who don't believe that what I believe in brings forth life and that more abundantly. God is the joy of my life!

You are right. So many of these questions are the same. People in this day in age are not so awed by nature or the beauty and natural design around them that they conclude that there is a God. We, as modern people, take all these things for granted and listen too often to Scientist and Philosophers who live to degrade and ridicule the Creator God.
People are just plain confused. They need to pray and read the Bible but most will not. The Gate is narrow and few find it.

It's true that until now, Christians have felt pressure to prove the gospel with their intellect, and it just can't be done. Mostly because excuses are easy to make, especially if you don't want to take responsibility for your sin, as many unbelievers think they would need to do if God exists. First of all they should know they don't, Jesus payed the priice for your sin, you're already forgiven. Allso, If you read about early church, you will read many times that the apostles cast out demons and performed many miracles and "many saw and believed" so I believe that that is the key to others believing. Just cast out a few demons, raise a few dead people. It's being done all over the world, and you can do it too! Jesus said that we will do greater things than he, so let's go do them!

Nothing turns people (on both sides of the question) into slavering pejorative numb-skulls quicker than the debate over a belief system or religion. These are strongly held personal beliefs for most every one involved in the 'debate' so its only natural that there will be strong emotion and an almost total lack of objectivity included in the discourse... its fascinating and sometimes riotously funny stuff and I just love to read all about it on this site. You couldn't buy this kind of entertainment anywhere.

The only way you can believe or not believe truly in something is by knowing the thing. Most non believers, like myself, quit from all religions. Believe and not believe are very similar things. I get to the conclusion that God doesn't exist. There's something wrong with that?

Uh. no, it is not because I am "unsure of myself."

I used to believe in God, though I've always had doubts. I majored in religious studies in college, and that secured to me, at the very least, an agnostic outlook if not atheistic. Learning about religions made me see the relativity of it all.

For me, it's sort of process of elimination - no proof of God (a holy book that "says so" is not evidence, for they all do that in their own ways). Therefore, no evidence, so no God.

It actually gives me peace of mind, but I know for some people to abandon that comfort of a trust in a higher power is quite scary. It enables me to take charge of my own life, be responsible, and work harder - and also, see the fruits of my labor in THIS life, not an unknowable afterlife.

Some people are blind when it comes to the truth. They would rather walk in darkness instead of walking in the light. They are afraid of the truth they see and hear people who are christian and know it is something different about them. For an example When bad things happen christians are still happy because there hope and trust is in God . Katie

When people ask me to prove that God exists, I like to ask them to prove He doesn't, lol. I think a lot of people ask because they want to learn more and are unsure of taking that leap of faith. Some are just hateful though. God bless!

Cause we try to see if the rest of the people (especially those we love) are really thinking by themselves, or just blindly accepting dogma.

Most of the times, there answers show that they simply act mechanically.
