this i guess is for christians, jews, jehova's witnesses (all have the same god), your god is supposed to be omniscient (all knowing) and omnipotent(all powerful) now if he knows everyithn and can do anything there is a contradiction. If he knows the future can he change it?

Most faith zombies aren't capable of this level of thought. Try the philosophy section instead.

If he knows the future, he could still change it. Watch any sci-fi movie about time travel to see examples of this. The difference would be the omniscience part. If He changed something, he would instantly know what the short and long term effects would be, without error. Being able to go back and fix any mistakes would certainly make one infallible. As for the Hiroshima and Nagasaki thing, God didn't do that, man did with free will.

Unlike much of Christendom, Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe that the bible teaches that the Almighty is a polytheistic triple-god (see below). While the Scriptures clearly demonstrate that Jehovah is capable of anything He chooses, they also show that the Almighty purposely restricts his own knowledge of future events in order to maintain his purity while allowing mankind and angels the great gift of free will.

In other words, if God knew that Adam and Eve would sin, many would view God as somehow wrong for not stopping them or just creating a new first couple. What these critics do not understand is that Jehovah chooses to "keep the page unturned" as it were.

Jehovah is capable of anything, but chooses to act carefully to respect His creatures' free will.

God could most certainly change the furture and he does at times but it still cordinates with his master plan which is to bring us to him through freewill he knows every thing were going to do before we do it, but he has still given us free will to do as we please, he knows what well choose and when well choose it but the choice is still up to us... sounds a little confusing but hey our minds are only mortal his is omniscient (nice word by the way:) just remember for the parts that your mind cant seem to grasp hold of just have faith and youll be able to ask him all about it later :)

no they are not the same god. Christians believe in a saving God, Jews in a law-crazy god, and jehovas in a destructive God.
The bible says that God has already set the future, but it also suggests he can change it, it says that believers can hasten the day of his return. But that hastening depends more on believers than on God

Hey locomexicano, if you really are "just looking for proof", I have two really good books that you need to read:

1. "More than a Carpenter" by Josh McDowell
2. "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell

Read them and then go ahead and make a decision about Jesus. If you have any questions, you can email me at jeffkorhorn@sbcglobal.net
If you want I can also mail you the books.

In my opinion, consider this an answer to prayer from God, He is offering you proof (possibly???).
Good questions, happy searching.

Kind, cheerful, likes a good joke, makes life easy for me and others, shares his goods and likes to drop in for a glass of wine, has a weird sense of humor, is friendly, likes kids a lot, plays sports a little and is a good sport, is married with kids, wouldn't hurt a fly, enjoys life, gets sad when things get screwed up, wants a good quality of life for everyone on the planet, works for Habitat for Humanity a lot. You would like God a lot.
God doesn't go to any one particular church, just hangs out with like minded people.

He does not need to change anything - because He is God and has planned everything well not like us humans that do the last minute running here and there.

The God of these religions gave to mankind upon its creation the power of free will. He sees all outcomes and all possible choices, so there is no set future, the occurrences unfold as men will them. Though he could influence the way they do so, he leaves men to their own devices, to make and learn from their own mistakes, and to forgive them for them.

He is noodly. He has two meatballs, and two all-seeing googly eyes.

He hovers the skies light as a feather, but with spaghetti arms of strength that could bench 100,000,000 lbs. He is a mighty noodle.

My Lord is the Flying Spaghetti Monster, in worship of Him, his Noodly Appendage.

I am looking foward to the beer and male stripper factory when I die.

to me, God is all powerful and all knowing. He could change the future if he wanted to, but He lets us make our decisions, and each future is different based on our decisions. only He knows what will come of those decisions.
