We as Christians have to realize it was God that sent Jesus to save us from our sins. We should thank God in the name of Jesus, through Jesus we can speak to God. Wonder why your prayers are not being answered?

Jesus is God. He is the second Person of the Trinity. God's nature is unique, and there is nothing like Him. Allow me to explain how Jesus stated that He is God.

He applied the name of God, "I AM," to Himself in several passages. Here's a few examples: Matthew 14:27, Mark 6:50, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8, John 4:26, John 6:20, John 8:24, 28, 58, and John 13:19. (Some translations will show the Greek for "I AM" to be translated in the English "It is I," or "I am He," and doesn't accurately reflect was was really being said.) There are several others I have not listed. Besides this, Jesus said that He & the Father were one (John 10:30). This describes a unity, even though there are two.

The Trinity has an underlying appearance in the Old Testament as well. In Genesis, we see during creation that God said, "Let us make man in our image." and also when man sinned, God said, "...man has become as one of us, to know good and evil..." Who was He speaking to? The other persons of the Trinity. We also see that the Spirit of God hovered over the waters in the beginning, and in John 1:1-3, it clearly states that Jesus (the Word) made everything.

Another angle to pursue is the various Scriptures that demonstrate that God's attributes are present in Jesus as well as the Holy Spirit. For example, the Father is eternal (Psalm 90:2), and so is the Son (John 1:2), and so is the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 9:14). Another shared attribute is their holiness. Only God is truly holy. The Father is holy (Revelation 15:4), so is the Son (Acts 3:14), and so is the Spirit (Acts 1:8).

An ancient diagram of the Trinity can be helpful in getting your hands around the doctrine, and can be found at the link in the SOURCE list.

The Trinitarian doctrine requires much more depth of discussion than can occur here. It is important to know that we only have to believe, not necessarily understand, the Trinitarian nature of God. It is a bedrock doctrine of the Christian church. Anything else is heresy.

If you missed the part of the Bible where Jesus said "I and the Father are one" then you need to reread the New Testament. All mainstream christian faiths believe in a "Triune God". Three persons in one; one God, 3 persons.

This is where Faith really comes into play. It's a "Great mystery" that God could be the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit at the same time. I guess it made Jesus coming to earth possible, while God the father was still on the throne in heaven.

Hope this helps.

Jesus is NOT God, the Christian beliefs do not truely include an incarnate God. Jesus was purported as the son of the Lord and a man with perfect, unconditional love for all of the human race--even dying for their imperfections. Jesus WAS a man! He did have the right to free will as did every other human; still, he chose death instead of staying a quiet carpenter as his father before him. Christians thank him for this and pray both to him and the Christian God--he is a figure which real people can relate to, whereas they cannot possibly fathom the depths of the Almighty.

My prayers are answered regardless if I say God or Jesus - why? Because they are God the Father and God the Son - two but one - They and He are two of the Trinity that meet the Holy Spirit within me forming every prayerful thought, word, or deed; so matters not, if I address one through the other as though there were a chain of command, for God gave all to Christ and Christ gave all to God, there is no power play in heaven's domain.

Obviously the ones that stated that Jesus is God, are not very intelligent; If you are Christian that is. It's sad when someone claims to be one thing but when you look a little deeper they have no depth or brain to think with - Christ on a stick if you are going to claim to be something then at least do your research and know what the hell your talking about.

Also - it doesn't matter as far I see; Faith is not stored in a book or bought off a shelf - no one seems to get that. IF every scrap of religious evidence was wiped off the earth I believe far more people would have true faith

This is what I've been telling the Pope for years, heck I'm on to the next Pope already for Chr... for goodness sakes. Now who's thanking who for what now? I am wondering why my prayers have been answered, but I think I've got a few true blue Christians working the prayer thing for me, you have to delegate; you know let go; don't micro manage ever little Godly detail. I mean if you can't trust Christians to pray for you then all is lost. So bravo with the thanking and all that, take care. Oh by the way if you could throw a couple of prayers in the bag for me that would be great, I'm working on something big right now and that could be my edge. Thanks eh.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Hope this helps.

This is a good question. There is God , and Jesus sets on the right side of him and on the left is Holy Spirit. Jesus is our savior , but we are to pray to the Father in Jesus name. It is all confusing I don't think it makes that big of differance as long as we love The Father , Jesus , and The Holy Spirit with all our heary and sole. May the Lord be with you all.

God is a trinity made up of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. So when you are praying to Jesus you really are praying to God as well. Spend more time reading the Bible it will explain all of this in depth.
