Toyota would be your best bet. They last forever and have a higher resale value. If you cant find one then get the Chevy. The Chevy's are cheaper and easier to fix when they break down. Fords in general are junk and should be avoided at all costs.
Hope I have been helpful.

I have had both a ranger and an s-10. The ranger was twice the truck. As long as you can get the 4L V6 go for the Ranger for sure. Both of mine were 2wd for I can't speak for the off-road ability, but for reliability and all around preference the Ranger by a land-slide. My S-10 was loud with that thirsty 4.3L. The seat fell apart, endless mechanical issues, paint defects, but maybe it was a lemon.

I dont know much about vehicals but the Chevy sounds like a good choice I see so many old ones and new ones on the road so they must be pretty reliabliable and durable even if the body is all rusted the engine still sounds strong

Nissan truck.

I've got a '91 Nissan pick-up truck with over 130,000 miles on it. It's been a good one. It doesn't use one drop of oil!
