I am smarter than that. I would lessen myself to practice such a thing. I am natural, old ways, Earthly spiritual.

There are too many Sects of Christianities.
Fundamentalist, conformist, etc.
You have the Major Players such as Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, etc...
And, these also can be broken down to sects within sects:
Fundamentalist Baptists, Conformist Baptist, Calvinist Protestant...
Whenever someone disagrees with dogma, a new sect is splintered and created.
Even in Paul's time there were different sects of Christians. Paul's Sect, Peter's Sect... etc.
Christianity is the MOST splintered sect of all religions.

There are hundreds, perhaps even thousands of Christian religions. Within the Catholic Church itself, there are 7 main "Rites" and up to 27 total Rites, depending on how you count them. Each Rite is the emobodiment of the Catholic church within a given area. Over time they have lost their geographic ties and you can now go to an Armenian Rite church (for example) in Los Angeles, California.
The link below details the various Rites of the Catholic Church.
Almost 500 years ago Martin Luther nailed his list of 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg Church, and shortly thereafter the Protestant Church was born. Most of the various Christian sects and cults are offshoots of the Protestant movement.
To me, the most tragic thing about the whole situation is that just about everything that Martin Luther was protesting has been fixed within the Roman Catholic Church. He never intended to shatter the church - he posted his concerns out of love for the Church and a desire for it to mend its ways. It has done so, but it took too long. And now Christians are scattered in their beliefs, and many of the various sects and cults hate and fear each other. If only people could be made to see that the original root causes for the existence of the Protestant movement are no longer in existence, then we could all start to get along together once again, and join in peace at a single mass.
But, just as when God shattered our language at Babel, there is probably no way to put the pieces back together any time soon.
(Oh, and if you haven't guessed by now, I'm Roman Catholic.)

There are many. Some Christians do not even belong to a sect, they just like what Jesus said and try to be somewhat like him. He's a tough act to follow but some people do follow his example.
Thank God.

I am what eyeore described...I don't belong to a certain denomination or sect...I just live my life according to Christ the best I can and I have a personal relationship with him instead of sitting in a pew singing hymnals.

well, I don't believe in "sects" Jesus did not come to the world to have the church divided by "sects" for us to argue which denomination is the best. He came to redeem us from death, hell and the grave.

Ex-Catholic.
I follow the sevenfold teaching of Yeshua Messiah [JC] --Praise Be Upon Him!-- of the Brotherhood of Essenes...
And NOT the Pauline doctrines found in the NT of the Bible.
Peace be with you!
