there are some people in America who are not so patriotic and don't care too much for the American Revolution. doesn't Juy 4th exclude those people? why do we patriotic people have a holiday all to ourselves? it must kill some people too see us blatantly advertising our love for this country, and ostracizing them.
let's take away the "patriotic" side of it, and make it more of a general holiday. we'll just wear certain colors, and not display the flag or sing the national anthem. that is offensive to those from other countries.
we can say happy holiday and just leave it that. sound good?

Yes, I'm with you, Babe. Let's take the red, white, and blue out of it. Maybe we could just call it The Holiday formerly Known As The Fourth, and just use a symbol. Or we could call it the early in July Holiday. Oh yeah, all that singing has got to stop, too! That must really bug the immigrants--legal or not. If someone already has a flag and insists on flying it, we could just call it a holiday banner. Yeah, yeah , yeah--this is getting good...we could just picnic and drink a lot, shoot off fireworks (just to bug our sleeping neighbors), and go to the beach. What revolution?? Never heard of it................................(Hey, half the kids in public school probably don't know about it anyway, so in a few years the meaning will have dwindled to almost nothing anyway)

Too patriotic? Put a gun in your hand and point it at the man who wants to take this country away from you. Don't believe me? Don't think that it will ever happen? One day, war will come to our shores, and I hope we have enough brave men out there to come to this country's defense. No wait, lets buy our way out of a war. Whatever. Why buy us, when they can just move in and take over?

I am sure there is a single-celled organism out there people can pray to. Where would we be with with out natural selection? If that is the case, then we as a country are very weak and due to be picked by nature for extinction. The strong shall survive.

Whatever. This country was founded on biblical principles and the only way to save it is to go back to them. Take care.

I always say happy holiday. All holidays are just excuses to skip work, eat pork/beef and drink beer(for me). Though I don't yet work and don't often drink beer. =)

The argument that christmass is a pagan ritual is very valid. December 25th was never once mentioned in the old testiment, but was mentioned in Mithraism, a 3500 year old religion, revolving around 12 apposile--oops, I mean zodiaks, last suppers, curing the sick, blind, cripple, crosses(which represent the sun and halos and eclipsi), rebirth, rechoning, St. Peter(son of petra holds the keys; name is peter) and easter, just to name a few. Man, I can go on all night (and with many other religions).

Absolutely not. We are patriotic because we celebrate how great our country is, in our country. If we sell out to every other nation that has representatives on our land, then we wash away our Americanism, and we would have no identity. Be proud of who you are, and what generations of soldiers have died for. Anything else is insulting to the memories of the forefathers who gave up everything for your freedoms.

Are dumb, baiting questions worth answering? Is there still a war on Christmas? Is Fox News truly "fair and balanced"? The answers to these questions may never be known by some, because as the Indian proverb goes, "It's impossible to wake up a person who is just pretending to sleep."

It represents a Declaration of Independence for America.
Cinco De Mayo for Mexico (5 May) same.
How many Countries do you know that don't have a National Day of Remembrance?
Freedom and Independence come at a high price and we should
HONOR our PAST, PRESENT and I pray our FUTURE.
No heritage exist in your past family generations?
No family gathering to celebrate?
I'm proud to be RED, WHITE and BLUE and free to say it!
May our LORD Bless all.

Honestly, that sounds like an idiotic idea. The whole point of the Fourth of July is to celebrate our declaration of independence from Great Britian. If someone doesn't like the idea of celebrating that, they don't have to! Seriously, get real.

No. If people would be offended by patriotic displays, they can pack up and leave. What do you think people of other nations do? Worry about what the immigrants think?

oh yeah. and we can forget all the other holidays too. nothing applies to everyone. you may like macaroons, but that doesn't mean i like macaroons. does that mean that we should ban macaroons? absolutely not. if everyone thought like that, then all of our holidays would be bland. people would forget what they're celebrating. maybe you are disillusioned about the fourth of july becuase you forget what it's celebrating, which really is worth celebrating. crack open a history book. you'll be enlightened.
